International Peer Guide/ Language Partner (2015-2016)

For this program, run through UWO affiliate Huron College, I have been chosen to work with an international student on exchange from Japan. My tasks include meeting with my partner weekly to practice speaking and coaching each other in English and Japanese, respectively. I also help edit the grammar and syntax of her essays, discuss grammar structures, and explain the meaning of various English expressions and phrases. This program has also provided me with a chance to learn more about another culture and to build a new friendship.
